Vote early anywhere in Oakville

During advance voting, Ward 6 residents may vote at any advance location in town — not just the one nearest home.

Hours 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., except October 14, when they are open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. All locations are physically accessible.

Eligibility

Who can vote

You may vote only once in Oakville, no matter how many properties you own or rent in town.

What to bring

Identification

Bring identification showing your name and Ward 6 address so an election official can confirm you on the voters' list or update your information at the poll. Commonly accepted documents:

• Ontario driver's licence
• Ontario photo card
• Current utility bill
• Current bank or credit card statement
• Current insurance policy

Check that your name, address and school support are current on the voters' list using the Town's "Am I On the List" tool at oakville.ca, or call the Clerk's Department at 905-815-6015.

Proxy voting

Have someone vote for you

If you will be away, unwell or otherwise unable to vote — including students studying outside Oakville — you can appoint a proxy.

1. Step one — complete Form 3

   You and the person you are appointing both complete the Appointment for Voting Proxy (Form 3). Your proxy must be an eligible Oakville voter, and can still cast their own ballot. A person may act as proxy for only one unrelated voter, but may act for any number of immediate family members (spouse, sibling, parent, child, grandparent, grandchild) using a separate form for each. Forms cannot be sent by phone, fax or email — original signatures are required.

2. Step two — have it certified at Town Hall

   Your proxy takes the completed form, along with acceptable identification, to Oakville Town Hall (1225 Trafalgar Road) to be certified by the Clerk or designate. Proxies may be appointed from September 1 to October 26, 2026, during business hours — an appointment is recommended. Extra certification hours at Town Hall during advance voting: October 7–10, noon to 5 p.m., and October 13–18, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

3. Step three — vote on your behalf

   Your proxy brings the original certified Form 3 and their own identification to your Ward 6 voting place, takes a short oral oath, and casts your ballot. All proxies must be appointed by 4:30 p.m. on voting day, Monday, October 26, 2026.
