Priorities

Natalia's priorities for Oakville

Councillor Natalia Lishchyna at Oakville Town Council
  • Manage growth while protecting our neighbourhoods and quality of life

Ensure growth is responsible, well planned and supported by the roads, transit, parks, schools, community facilities and other infrastructure needed to create complete, livable communities.

  • Keep taxes low and protect Oakville's strong financial position

Continue responsible financial management, maintain healthy reserves and control debt while delivering the services and investments residents expect and deserve.

  • Invest in the infrastructure we rely on every day

Maintain and renew our roads, sidewalks, stormwater systems and community facilities while making responsible investments in the new infrastructure needed for a growing Oakville.

  • Keep our neighbourhoods safe

Work with Halton Regional Police, Town staff and residents to improve neighbourhood and traffic safety and ensure Oakville continues to be a safe place to live, raise a family and grow older.

  • Protect our natural environment and expand our green spaces

Protect Oakville's natural areas, increase our tree canopy and enhance parks, trails and green spaces that support the health and well-being of residents, protect wildlife and strengthen our resilience to a changing climate.

  • Protect the quality of the services residents depend on

Maintain Oakville's high standard of municipal services while continually looking for ways to deliver them more efficiently, effectively and conveniently.

  • Improve how we move around Oakville

Work to address traffic congestion and neighbourhood traffic concerns while improving public transit, walking and cycling options so residents have safer and more convenient ways to get where they need to go.

  • Support more housing choices and greater affordability

Use the tools available to the Town and work with the provincial and federal governments to encourage more attainable housing options for young people, families, seniors and others who want to call Oakville home.

  • Build an accessible and welcoming community for everyone

Continue removing barriers and promoting accessibility, inclusion and a strong sense of belonging so residents of all ages, abilities and backgrounds can participate fully in community life.

  • Support recreation, arts and culture and the places that bring us together

Continue investing in recreation, libraries, arts, culture and community spaces that enrich our lives, encourage creativity and bring neighbours together.

  • Be accessible, responsive and accountable to you

Continue providing the constituent service you deserve by listening, responding quickly to your questions and concerns, advocating on your behalf and working with you to find solutions.
